STRANGE BUT TRUE
BODY FOUND AT BIG BIRD'S NEST
by..Sarah Hall Dec 15, 2005, 2:05 PM PT
Sesame Street has been hit by a crime wave.
The body of a female jogger was found Tuesday on property belonging to actor Carroll Spinney, who plays Big Bird on the long-running children's series.

Social worker Judith Nilan was reported missing by her husband Monday after she failed to return from a run. On Tuesday, police discovered her body in a shed on Spinney's property and proceeded to charge the actor's caretaker, Scott Deojay, with kidnapping.
Officials were planning to pursue murder charges against Deojay, but as the shed where Nilan's body was found straddles the Massachusetts-Connecticut border, issues of jurisdiction were still being worked out. Another hearing in the matter was scheduled for Friday.
Police said Spinney, who plays Oscar the Grouch in addition to Big Bird, was not a suspect in the crime.
Investigators linked Deojay to Nilan's death after discovering the jogger's headband near a bloody receipt signed by the caretaker after purchasing items for Spinney.
There were skid marks near the headband and a bloody trail led to the shed, where Nilan's body was found tied up, her jogging pants pulled down and her head bloody where she appeared to have been beaten.
Police said the caretaker claimed he hit the woman with his car accidentally, then panicked. He claimed to have dragged her into his car, driven her to Spinney's property, tied her up in order to pull her into the shed, where he deposited her body.
The Massachusetts medical examiner's office was performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether Nilan had been sexually assaulted.
After police questioned Deojay, he reportedly tried to hang himself in his garage, but cut himself down after his girlfriend called 911.
The caretaker was being held on $510,000 bail.
As of Thursday evening, Spinney had not commented on the case.

Hudson's Baptism Weekend
Well we got Hudson Baptised Sunday. We had a nice time and good break away. The Menz's even let us crash their Christmas party so we could see the baby. It was the first time for me and my first impression was that he was very beautiful and very content. Looks like everyone adjusting well.
That's all

Weekend at Pineville
Well we had a VERY short but exciting weekend at Shama's and Grandpa's house this weekend. WE arrived Friday afternoon and Grandpa got the bonfire ready for the 1st annual weenie roast and smore throwing contest. (Mom won!) WE had a great time and the girls drank all Dad's wine and then told stories by the fire.
Mom and LeAnn got an early start on their Saturday sleeping in and then we got up Saturday morning and went to visit GiGi and Paw paw. Always a nice visit and the kids ate cookies and ran and played in the backyard, Found out that paw paw has apparently been running people off the roads in Pineville and Alexandria.. Ha!
Then we went to the Shrine Circus and the kids tried very hard to eat all the popcorn cotton candy and sno cones they could find.
Sunday we went to see Nanny and Papa, Uncle Nicki Aunt Linda, Uncle Steven and Uncle Peachie and Aunt Mary at Nanny and papa's house. We ate thanksgiving dinner again. Thank you Aunt Linda and Uncle Nicki for that.

Zoo BOO
Zoo Boo this weekend. Me LeAnn and the kids went and had a great time. All the way we were serenaded by Nathan and Preston with lovely Halloween or as Nathan says" Hawowween" music. The kids saw a magic show and They all got to "pet" a Python..
Then we painted and glittered pumpkins and ate ice cream in 50 degree weather. Nathan and Preston tried hard as they could to eat all their "booty" before we got home.. We had a great time and it was worth the effort.... ( I guess) Earlier that day we went to the "Free " Southaven Old time Festival..Ate some funnel cake and the kids rode some ride$.
Field Trip with Nathan's class
Well I went on a field trip Thursday to Cedar Hill farm with Nathan and his kindergarden class. It was really nice to put faces with Names and I also got to spend some time with his teachers. The whole class loves her and seems as though she's very nice and great with all the kids. It was nice to just spend some quality time alone with Nathan. The farm was great as usual and The weather was perfect.

Weekend
Well this weekend I went with my neighbor Brandi to the Roadhouse grill to wash cars for the cause. Her brother is the district manager there and they've raised 1000 dollars in two days. Just a drop in the bucket but it made me feel better to contribute my time.
I slept better last night so must have helped me a little.
Planning to have the Malones and the Stapors here for late lunch today. Potluck. Will try to take pics and post later.
Boat still broken we think. Poor Peter hasn't had a chance to put it bak on the water yet. He said he was getting up early today, taking the kids to the Grandparents adn we'd go for a little bit. Well he's in bed now too tired.. Allison woke him up this am at the crack of dawn... What a shame. I get no sympathy and neither will he... He watched Allison yesterday and apparently the other two kids downt he street came over and he had a house full of stuff to do. I got here and he's trying to sleep in the middle of the day... HA@
Needless to say that didnt' happen either. I think he tried to hypnotise them with kids movies, there was 6 hours worth downstaris that had been played... didn't work apparently..
I guess now he's still in recovery..
Ok well have a great day

Spoke too soon
I spoke too soon about no damage from the storm. About 1130 last night that thing hit us hard. Heard freight train sounds all night with other strange noises. Looked out to find this.. Needless to say I slept none. Everytime I tried to close my eyes I'd hear big wind gush and more banging noise. I was so scared that trampoline was going to either go thru our window or the neighbors.
It teetered and spun around on the corner of that fence all night long. Our new trees are now bent at the knees..
Still today gusty and rain. Peter is at work. I will take more detailed pictures of the trampolectomy when he gets here.

Update
Hurricane
Well we're in the middle of the storm and it wasn't bad at all. We did get a lot of much needed rain. Peter got some ammonia nitrate out just before the rain and now we've got really really green grass! YEAH! We've had steady rainfall for the majority of the day that's pretty much it. The small trees we've planted do tend to bend over a good bit every so often but other than that no big deal. The only one that is pissed is Daisy..ha
Her neck has nearly healed and she's feeling much better. I guess it wasn't the "tumor" after all.
Picture to the right is the front door. The water near the door isn't flooding just the drainspout comes down and runs off there to the other side of the flowerbed.. I dont know if you can tell or not from that picture but you may notice that our old "Stapor" door knocker is back on the door. We left it on the door at our old house and I got a package the other day and that was in it! I thought it was very nice of them..
Nathan is still liking school. This week is letter "S". He told me today he's got ten friends but can only tell me the names of three. One being his "girlfriend" Jazlyn........ hum... interesting....
Ok thats all for today.

Weekend
Well thank god it's the weekend. Finally got some much needed rain last night. Hasn't rained a drop here since August 6th..(Allison's birthday) I'm still fighing this cold and hoped to get some rest last night so went to bed pretty early. Well the storm came in about 4:30 so I am up with the biggest baby in the house (Daisy) get her settled and the here comes allison at 6 am ready for her day.. Good lord. How did this happen to me. I never thought I'd have kids that are up at the crack of dawn every day rearing to go. I would give my left arm to sleep in once in a while. Any suggestions? I've tried to keep them up late. I've put them to bed early. Doesn't matter. Nathan sleeps a little longer than Allison but that girl is an early bird. And it's not like she can get up and just sit quietly and watch cartoons. NOOOO. WE've got to get chocolate milk. Watch the toons... Go to the potty...GEEZ@!
Anyway. Going to some Fellowship dinner tonite at church. Dont know how much fun that'll be but you never know.........
That's it. Boring I know, but that' s it.

Birthday Party Update
Well another successful Birthday Party down. Allison's third, we had a great time. I was determined to make her cake myself. SOmething I just had to do . Well it took a collaborative effort of about 5 people but we did it and the "Barbie" cake was great. I hope Allison remembers how pretty it was and how much love went into it. All in all it was fun to do and I learned alot.
We had a pool party and all the kids had a pretty good time. It did rain but we really needed it and didn't seem to bother the kids either. Allison loved all her gifts. Brian yours came Friday evening. Thanks.. she loved it.!
Enjoyed the company we had. Bill, (Tracy's husband) was in rare form and had us all in stitches.
Drew, our neighbor, was there(18months old) this was his first party. I hope he had a good time too.
Nathan starts school tomorrow. I am sure I'll have some interesing pics to send of that!
